About Rotaract Club of Surrey

Established in the fall of 2010, the, then named, Rotaract Club of Coverdale was the brainchild of a group of old high school friends that felt a strong desire to give back to the community that had done so much for them as children. In an area known for farming, a historic downtown core, and Canada’s second largest Rodeo (outside of the Calgary Stampede), the small district in Surrey, British Columbia boasts the perfect location for a youth-centred service organization. Cloverdale was the original centre for Surrey and still holds a reputation for a slower pace and an appreciation of the ways of yore. Today, Cloverdale and area is  home to a polytechnic university, a casino at the revitalized Fraser Downs Race Track, an amphitheatre, a full exhibition and fairgrounds, a bustling film industry, and an excess of 37,000 residents as of 2011.

As of September 2016, the Rotaract Club of Cloverdale changed their name and officially became the Rotaract Club of Surrey Newton. The sponsoring Rotary Clubs are the Rotary Club of North Delta and the Rotary Club of Surrey Newton.
